"I joined the gym and realised pretty quickly that I wasn’t seeing the results I’d hoped for. To be honest, I didn’t see any! I had always been skeptical about personal trainers and whether they could provide the results they said they could, but after a friendly consultation with John I decided to take the plunge and bought a block of sessions. Immediately I saw where I was going wrong with my own training. When I trained on my own I would simply run on a treadmill, cycle or occasionally row, and thought this would be enough, it clearly wasn’t. In johns sessions we actually used weights! Normally I would run a mile (if I could run a mile) if someone suggested I used weights but John explained the science behind this and more importantly, assured me I wouldn’t bulk up but in fact lose weight because of it. Again I was sceptical but after just a few weeks of training with John, my weight started to drop and my fitness greatly improved.
Now I’ve lost a total of 7 kilos and several inches of my waist and hips as the photo shows! I’m approaching the weight I’ve always wanted to be and although I’m not quite there yet, I’m certainly closing in!

"Taking regular exercise has always been something I found difficult to do on my own, but John's easy going, friendly approach created the relaxed atmosphere I needed to 'lure' me into the gym regularly - I never thought I'd say this but I've definitely got the bug now and actually miss our sessions when I'm on holiday!
Sessions with John are varied, challenging and interesting - offering support, encouragement, motivating me to push past my perceived limits, and giving me a gentle 'prod' when I need it (and often when I don't ;-)).
